Getting Started
Transit Signs MC is a collection of separate Minecraft mods inspired by real-world transit systems. Install only the city collections you want to use. Each mod page lists its supported Minecraft versions, loaders and download platforms.
Installation
mods. Keep the file as a .jar.Choosing Fabric, Forge or NeoForge
The loader is part of the mod build. A Fabric file does not work in a Forge instance, and a NeoForge file must be used with a compatible NeoForge installation.
- Fabric: lightweight ecosystem with its own loader and dependencies.
- Forge: established mod loader used by many Minecraft versions.
- NeoForge: separate Forge-derived ecosystem for supported modern versions.
When in doubt, match all three labels exactly: Minecraft version + loader + mod file.
Minecraft Compatibility
The compatibility list can differ between city mods. The Download Center is the canonical public matrix for currently configured versions and loaders.
Finding & Using Blocks
After the mod loads successfully, open Creative Mode and use the creative inventory search to find station signs, tiles, platform details and other transit assets. Search by the mod or block name shown in-game.
- Use Creative search for a known station, sign or asset name.
- Check the mod-specific creative tab when the installed version provides one.
- For signs made from multiple blocks, place the matching pieces in their intended orientation.
- If an asset appears purple/black, treat it as a missing texture or incompatible build and use the troubleshooting section below.
Building Stations
For convincing results, establish the station structure before adding signage. Build the platform envelope, columns/walls and passenger circulation first; then add wayfinding, station identity, route indicators and decorative details.
- Define platform width, track alignment and tunnel/station geometry.
- Place structural elements such as columns, walls, vault pieces, stairs and platform edges.
- Add station-name signs at consistent intervals and heights.
- Add route, transfer, exit and directional information where passengers would naturally look for it.
- Finish with benches, lighting and system-specific details.
Multiplayer / Server Installation
When a server world contains custom mod blocks, the server and connecting players normally need compatible mod files and loader versions. A server cannot make ordinary client installations understand custom blocks simply by placing them in the world.
- Install the matching loader on the server when required by the modpack/setup.
- Use the same compatible mod version on server and clients.
- Keep Minecraft and loader versions aligned across all participants.
- Back up the world before changing or removing content mods.
Dependencies
If a mod build requires another library or API, the dependency is shown on the mod page and in the Download Center compatibility data. Install the dependency for the same Minecraft version and loader.
Troubleshooting
Minecraft crashes during startup
Confirm that the Minecraft version, loader and mod file all match. Then check whether the selected file has a required dependency. Remove duplicate/older copies of the same mod before testing again.
Purple and black textures
This usually indicates a missing texture/resource or an incompatible build. Verify the correct mod file first. If the problem affects only one asset in an otherwise working version, capture the asset name and report it with your Minecraft version and loader.
The mod does not appear
Confirm the .jar is in the active instance's mods folder, not a different launcher profile. Make sure Minecraft was started using the intended Fabric/Forge/NeoForge profile.
Server connection fails after installing the mod
Compare Minecraft, loader, dependency and mod versions between server and client. Version mismatches are a common cause of modded connection errors.
After an update, old blocks behave incorrectly
Back up the world, confirm the update targets your Minecraft version, then reproduce the issue in a test world. Report the previous and new mod versions if the problem persists.
FAQ
Can I install several city mods together?
Yes, when those mod files support the same Minecraft version and loader and do not introduce conflicting dependencies.
Do I need every Transit Signs city mod?
No. The collection is modular; install the systems you want.
Where should I download releases?
Use the site's Download Center, which points to the configured CurseForge and Modrinth projects.
How do I know what is coming next?
The public Roadmap shows released, scheduled and in-development projects, together with progress and milestones configured by the project owner.
Support
When reporting a problem, include enough information to reproduce it: city/mod name, mod version, Minecraft version, loader and the exact error or affected block.
